Jean Wallace Nelson, 85, passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2010.

She was the beloved wife of the Rev. Hoyte E. Nelson; mother of Jan Suggs (Terrell), Dickie Nelson (Dee), Debbie McClelland (Lawrence), Mona Nelson and the late Sherrill Nelson and sister of the late Carlene King. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Poplarville, Miss., and a long time resident of Slidell.

She was a preschool teacher for 20 years at the First Baptist Church CDC and taught Sunday school for many years.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 3 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, 4141 Pontchartrain Drive, Slidell. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until funeral time. Interment will be private.
