John Phillip Wichterich Jr., 82, of Slidell, passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2010.

He was the beloved husband of Irma Philips Wichterich; father of Kenneth Phillip (Christianne) Wichterich, Kevin Louis (Estrella) Wichterich and Kerry Brian (Robbie) Wichterich; son of the late John and Lillian Wichterich; brother of Raymond Wichterich, Roland Wichterich, Carol Barrios, Joanlyn Otto; and the late Judy Fust and Cheryl Jennings. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Wichterich was a U.S. Navy World War II and Korean War veteran.

He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell since 1964.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 11 a.m. today at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Please visit www.honakerforestlawn.com to sign guestbook.
