Lawrence Vincent Labatut Sr. passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at the age of 79. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Kenner. He was the beloved father of Loree L Krajcer and her husband Jimmy, and Lawrence V. Jr., and his wife Sari; son of the late Lillian M. and Arthur Labatut; brother of Louis Labatut, Rose Marie L. Asaro and the late Arthur, Lloyd, Robert, Alvin, Monte, Milton, Lois Labatut and Merle L. Kirchem and grandfather of Matthew Peter Labatut, Deborah Lynn Labatut, James Joseph “Tre’” Krajcer III, Logan Lawrence Krajcer, Jake Jules Krajcer and Angelle M. Melancon. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lawrence was a retired employee of Southern Oaks Plantation. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army as sergeant first class and was awarded the Silver Metal and two Bronze Stars.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. today at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Interment with military honors will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose. Arrangements by Bagnell & Son Funeral Home of Covington,.
