Edmond “Eddie” Thomas Barras Jr., 47, was taken from this Earth and those who love him Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010. Left to celebrate his life are his son, Adam A. Barras; his parents, Paulette Ketry Barras and Edmond T. Barras, Sr.; and his sister, Pamela A. Barras. He was the grandson of Nancy G. Ketry and the late John M. Ketry, Therese Yenni Barras and Lee J. Barras. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Eddie spent his childhood in St. Bernard and had a residence in Slidell. He did electrical work but could fix anything. When his parents were left with an unfinished home, Eddie worked tirelessly to finish their home and a place to remember him by. Eddie found his faith and believed strongly in God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Eddie loved the water, boats and fishing, but his greatest love was his son, Adam.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home, 75212 Lee Road, Covington. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Masses preferred. To view and sign the family guest book, please visit www.bagnellfuneralhome.com.

BARRAS

“Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on snow. When you awake in morning’s hush, I am the swifter uplifting rush, Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.”
