Ballet Apetrei will be conducting auditions for dancers for its 22nd annual production of “The Nutcracker.” Auditions are open to the public. Dancers ages 5 and up may audition Aug. 28 beginning at noon. Auditions will be held at the Apetrei Dancenter located in Mandeville at 829 Asbury Drive.  Dancers must be currently studying ballet to audition, although no prior experience is necessary.

Ballet Apetrei’s “The Nutcracker” is a full-length production and will take place at St. Joseph’s Abbey Dec. 4-5. In addition, school shows will take place Dec. 3. The annual production features local talent as cast members alongside international guest artists coming in exclusively for the performance.

Ballet Apetrei will also be conducting auditions for company members for the 2010-2011 season. Dancers must be at least 12 years of age to audition and females must have at least one year of pointe work.

There is a $20 audition fee due at the time of audition. Call 624-3622 for more information.
