Slidell City Court Judge James “Jim” Lamz recently administered the formal oath of office to the new deputy marshal who will serve for Slidell City Court Marshal Wyatt Williams.

Max Fischer, of Slidell, is recently retired from the Slidell Police Department, where he served for 10 years. At the police department, Fischer was serving as a corrections officer at Slidell City Jail.

Marshal Williams said Fischer will serve as a security marshal at the courthouse.

Deputy Marshal Max Fischer takes the formal oath of office administered by Slidell City Court Judge James “Jim” Lamz.

Like Slidell City Court, the city marshal’s responsibilities cover all of the 8th and 9th Wards of St. Tammany Parish.

“We execute the legal orders for the City Court. That includes serving legal summons, providing security for the court and its personnel as well as providing secure transport of juveniles to and from the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center,” Williams said.
