Deputies Search for Attempted Bank Robbery Suspect

The St. Tammany Sheriff's Office is looking for an alleged ban robber, who went into the Whitney Bank on La. Highway 59 north of Mandeville around 3 p.m.  Tuesday with the intent of robbing the bank, but got away with no money.

Authorities said the man entered the bank with a briefcase, and gave a teller a note demanding the teller hand over money. However, he fled the bank before he got any money. The STPSO say the suspect got into a compact car. He is described as a white male, mid to late 40’s, approximately 5’8” tall, with a heavy build. The suspect was wearing a light blue baseball cap, red polo shirt, and khaki shorts.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-898-2338.
