Robert retired from Bell South as a systems technician after serving 31 years. He served two terms as a member of the St. Tammany Parish Police Jury and served as Secretary of the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission. He also worked as a Supervisor of Tolls for the Causeway. He was very active in the 1960s, coaching little league baseball and a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. His father was president of the Bayou Liberty Civic Club and Bob followed in his footsteps a few years later. He actively participated in the pirogue races for a number of years. Bob will be missed by his many friends, who nicknamed him the “Governor.” He had many memories fishing Lake Pontchartrain and the surrounding areas. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell for more than 50 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 2 p.m. today at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell.
