William Herbert Flautt, 87, a native of New Orleans, resident of St. Bernard Parish for 32 years, resident of Picayune, Miss., for three years and a resident of Lacombe for the past 15 years, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Dubea Flautt; children, Caron Lynn Flautt Codina and husband Julian, and William Brian Flautt and wife Jennifer. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Matthew Michael Flautt and Andrea Elizabeth Flautt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Alexander Flautt, Sr., and Bonnabel Berry Flautt; two brothers and three sisters.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the World War II Pacific Theatre.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Dominique You Lodge 468, Reggio and a member of Jerusalem Temple Shrine of New Orleans.

Bill was employed as a U.S. Customs inspector, a job he dearly loved until his retirement; and he enjoyed hunting and fishing in St. Bernard Parish with his family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at noon tomorrow at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery) Slidell. Visitation at the funeral home begins at 10 a.m. Donations to the American Cancer Society are preferred, in lieu of flowers.
