Third Sunday Concert to be on fourth Sunday

Published on Thursday, March 11, 2010 9:08 PM CST

The Third Sunday concert for March will be held on the fourth Sunday, March 28. The date change is necessary since the Chef Soiree will be held in Bogue Falaya Park adjacent to Christ Church on the third Sunday.

The concert, which begins at 5 p.m., will feature the Southeastern Concert Choir and Women’s Chorale under the direction of Alissa Rowe.

The program to be performed consists of music set to words of people who lived during the holocaust. All poems are in English and extremely moving. The poems of the women’s choral pieces were written by children, and the poems of the mixed chorus were written by adults.

This and all concerts in the Third Sunday Concert Series are free, open to the public, and followed by a reception where the audience can meet the performers. Christ Church is located at 120 S. New Hampshire in Covington.
