James L. King, 77, passed away Feb. 9, 2010, at his residence in Pearl River. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. King worked on the Apollo Program at NASA, and he worked with Mason Chamberlin, who designed the first automated grain loader. He was an avid archer, hunter and fisherman. He is survived by eight children, Richard, Randy, Rodney, Robert, Royce, Ryan, and Pamela King and Patience Breaux. He is also survived by two sisters, Charlotte Larsen and Vivian Lindberg and 15 grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend the graveside services at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, in Slidell. There will be a memorial service immediately following at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to honor his life. D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Louisiana Highway 41, Pearl River, is in charge of arrangements.
