Mitchell Anthony Boone died Thursday, March 4, 2010. He was born May 30, 1963, in Jefferson Parish and was a longtime resident of Covington with his most recent residence in Ballston Spa, N.Y.

He was the beloved son of Antoinette Palmere Boone and the late Donald Joseph Boone. He is survived by his son, Nicholas Aaron Keller; his beloved fiancée and longtime companion, Lisa Beth Pritchett; many cherished uncles, aunts, cousins, dear friends and his good horse, Bud.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Agnes Boone, Helen Boone Larmeu and Martin Larmeu, and Paul and Camelle Palmere.

Mitchell enjoyed an extensive and rich history in the thoroughbred horse racing industry and most recently worked in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., for the New York Racing Association as a backstretch field trainer under John Veitch, American Hall of Fame Thoroughbred horse trainer and State of Kentucky Thoroughbred Racing Commissioner. Mitchell was a joyous force of life and will be greatly missed by everyone he encountered throughout his life.

The time of visitation and service will be from 11 a.m. to noon today at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave, Coving-ton. Graveside services and interment will begin at 1:30 p.m. at Garden of Memories on Airline Highway in Metairie.
