Mary Pauline Sukman, 97, died March 7, 2010, at River Oaks Residential Care, Port Royal, S.C. Sukman was born Feb. 5, 1913, in Woonsocket, R.I. She moved to Beaufort, S.C. in 2006, after residing in Slidell for 25 years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Payne of Beaufort; son and daughter-in-law, William and Barbara Sukman of Gulf Shores, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law Arthur and Wilma Sukman of Houston, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Sukman.

Family will receive friends at 1 p.m. today at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Beaufort, followed by a funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Interment will be at 4 p.m. tomorrow at St. Peter’s Memorial Gardens in Beaufort.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 70 Lady’s Island Drive, Beaufort, SC 29907.
