After a short illness, Evelyn “Lynntune” Cornelia Cousin Evans was called home by the Lord Monday, March 8, 2010. The late Joseph “Gilbert” Cousin and Josephine “Frances” Pichon Cousin were blessed with their eighth child of 13, Evelyn Cornelia Oct. 19, 1939. Evelyn married Henry Evans Jr. Oct. 11, 1958, and into this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter. She was a graduate of St. Tammany High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Lacombe Nursing Home

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory four sons, Henry III (Carletta) of Slidell, Michael (Lolita) of Lacombe, Clinton of Bedico and Bernard Evans of Richwood; one daughter, Toni (Freddie) Brown of Magnolia, Miss.; six granddaughters, Fredrecka, Stacey, Jatera, Melissa, Alicia and Natalie; six grandsons, Sean, Fredrick Sr. (Tiffany), Tyler, Jatory, Henry IV and Devin and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Eunice (Walter) Lymuel of Slidell, Mary Theresa (Ervin) Faciane and Varonica Alma Braud of California; three brothers Richard, Edwin (Isabella)and Leo Cousin of Slidell and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Steven Michael Evans and Tradell Scott Evans Sr. and six brothers, Curtis, Robert, Bernard, Harold, Joseph and Calvin Cousin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. Genevieve Catholic Church 58189 Louisiana Highway 433, Slidell. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at Slidell Memorial Cemetery. Services entrusted to Doyle’s Funeral Home, Slidell.
