The man is described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He is believed to be in his 20s.
George Bonnett, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said the two men had just left a home at 73267 Jasmine Street and were sitting in their car when the suspect approached, pointed a handgun at the men and demanded money. Bonnett said after being given an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect then walked to the front door of the residence, where he knocked on the door.

The man sustained a wound to his head, but Bonnett said it was unclear to medical personnel whether the injury was the result of his being grazed by the bullet or if it was a result of his being struck by the weapon.
The suspect was able to obtain some cash from the homeowner, who then ran from the residence in an attempt to find help.
Meanwhile, the suspect approached the homeowner’s girlfriend, who had been sleeping on the couch and attempted to get more money from her.
When she failed to provide him with any money, the man fled the residence.
The homeowner was brought to St. Tammany Parish Hospital and treated for his injuries. He was released a short time later.
Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 898-2338.
