Heartiest congratulations to four St. Tammany Parish women who have been nominated for the Louisiana Legislative Women’s Caucus Foundation’s 2010 Women of Excellence Awards. They are:

• Dawn Sharpe Brackett of Slidell, CEO of the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce

• Kathy Lowrey of Slidell, General Manager of the Northshore Harbor Center

• Rachelle Ammond of Slidell

• Jessica Celeste Salley of Covington

Dawn and Kathy are nominated in the business category, and Rachelle and Jessica are nominated in young high school women of excellence.

The annual awards program recognizes and honors the achievements and contributions of extraordinary women who personify excellence in their area of specialty, integrity, character, and community service.

The winners will be announced March 12, and the awards presented at the LLWC Women of Excellence Awards Gala in Baton Rouge on May 19.

Congratulations to my friends, Ms. Mary Young and son Craig Young, on the 41st anniversary of Young’s Restaurant.

In celebration of the milestone, they’re offering dinner for two for $41 during the month of March.
