Mr. and Mrs. Steven Keith Waddell of Mandeville announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Monica Anne Waddell, to Ryan Whitney Cooney of Mobile, Ala., son of Mr. and Mrs. James Barry Cooney of Mobile.

The nuptial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Mandeville followed by a reception at Vintage Court in Covington.

Waddell, whose mother is the former Jan Graffeo of Port Allen, is a graduate of St. Scholastica Academy and Louisiana State University where she received a degree in kinesiology with a concentration in human movement. She is employed at Peak Performance Physical Therapy.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Graffeo of Port Allen and Mrs. H. Keith Waddell of Franklinton.

Cooney, whose mother is the former Kim McMahon of New Orleans, is a graduate of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School and Louisiana State University where he received a degree in management. He is employed by the Baton Rouge area chamber.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl M. McMahon Sr. of New Orleans and Patrick J. Cooney and the late Mrs. Patrick J. Cooney of Mobile. �
