The Mandeville City Council is looking for a certified public accountant to serve on it new revamped audit committee.

After the first committee failed to come up with a mission or a charter and fell apart, the council reworked the committee, eliminating all but one citizen on it.

The committee is now formed of two council members and one citizen.

This go around, in an effort to ensure the citizen is the most qualified to provide guidance to the committee, the council has a set up a list of criteria the individual must meet and will accept applications before appointing someone.

In addition to being a CPA, those wishing to apply must also live within the city limits of Mandeville and must be familiar with audit standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors Inc.

Interested individuals need to mail their resumes to Mandeville City Council Clerk, 3101 East Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA, 70448 or e-mail it to lmyhal@cityofmandeville.com.

Resumes must be submitted by 4 p.m. March 26.
