St. Paul’s wrestlers take ninth place
The St. Paul’s Wolves and Archbishop Rummel Raiders competed in the Southeast Prep School Slam II in Atlanta on Friday and Saturday. St. Paul’s finished ninth with 123 points in the 33 team field representing nine states. Baylor, Tenn., won its second consecutive title followed by the Kiski School from Pennsylvania.

Covington’s Jordan Bedford netted a game-high 19 points and finished with a double-double pulling down 12 rebounds in the Lions 66-48 District 7-5A victory over the St. Paul’s Wolves Friday night at the Gene Bennett Sports Complex.

St. Scholastica holds off Covington at home
St. Scholastica Academy’s Kayleigh Chiasson and Carly Keller scored 16 points each to lift the Doves to a 48-38 district home victory Friday over the Covington Lady Lions. SSA’s Sarah Bagley turned in a strong effort as well with eight points and a game-high 16 rebounds with five steals. Caroline Broussard chipped in with six points and two rebounds, while Paige Long grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Doves control the boards.

FHS stays unbeaten trimming SSA
Near perfection continued Tuesday night for the Fontainebleau Lady Bulldogs’ Division I No.1 ranked soccer club as they secured an exciting 2-1 victory over the upset minded St. Scholastica Academy Doves in a key district match played at SSA. The victory secured Fontainebleau’s ninth consecutive district title after they shared the title with SSA last season.
