Local men guilty of
dealing cocaine

U.S. Attorney Jim Letten said that Ricky Wilson, 33, and Brian Purvis, 28, both of St. Tammany Parish pled guilty before U.S. District Judge Kurt Engelhardt Wednesday to drug distribution charges.

According to the factual basis, Wilson and Purvis both admitted that they distributed five grams of crack cocaine Feb. 1, 2008.

Both men face a maximum sentence of 40 years in jail, a fine up to $2 million and four years of parole after they are released from prison. Sentencing is scheduled for March 3.

    " this is ridiculous....5 grams is nothing...st tammany sucks....new orleans would not even prosecute...unfair justice system in our country is showing "
