Local credit union gives back to Covington Food Bank

Published on Sunday, December 13, 2009 12:25 AM CST

As the Holiday Season draws near First Castle Federal Credit Union sets out to help local food bank. Phone calls have been made and boxes dropped off to local businesses in an effort to help the Covington Food Bank.

Sally Hoffstadt a past volunteer at the Food Bank said “It is amazing how little they have stocked in the ware house.”

Expressing the concern to the Credit Union sparked a plan to set up boxes at local Covington businesses and start calling for donations.

Conco Foods generously donated cases of soup, juice and boxed potatoes.

If anyone in the community would like to donate some non perishable foods the Credit Union has a box set up in the lobby for donations.

The Credit Union is willing to pick up larger donations and deliver to the food bank for you. Simply call 867-8867.
