The village of Folsom will be welcoming Santa Clause Dec. 12 with a parade, tree lighting ceremony, caroling and a toy drive.

The parade will start at 3 p.m. from Magnolia Park, and Folsom officials are inviting all to sign up to be in the parade along with Santa.

There will be trophies handed out for best overall, runner up and honorable mention. Floats, cars, trucks, horses, wagons and ATVs will be in the parade.

There will be a tree lighting ceremony at 4 p.m. in Magnolia Park following the parade. There will be a chance for the children to visit with Santa Claus, and everybody is invited to sing Christmas carols.

Finally from 5 – 6:30 p.m. there will be a Folsom Toy Drive in the gym in Magnolia Park. Anyone who wants to donate to the toy drive can drop off his or her toys at the Folsom Town Hall, Capital One Bank or Statewide Bank.

There will also be a home decorating contest. All homes and businesses within a one-mile radius of the Folsom Town Hall are eligible to enter. One home and one business will be selected by a panel that will judge all the entries Dec. 23. Trophies will be awarded at the Town Hall Meeting Jan. 11, 2010.
