Three Lake House employees had locked up for the night and were walking to their vehicles shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday when two individuals, one armed with a handgun, robbed them and made off with their purses.

According to Acting Chief Ron Ruple, Mandeville Police are still looking for suspects, which are described as two black males, approximately six feet tall with slender builds.

Ruple said the employees had hung around the establishment after closing up for the night and had already locked the restaurant’s doors when the two men, dressed all in black, came out from around the corner of the building. One reportedly produced a handgun before stealing the victims’ purses.

After stealing the purses, Ruple said, the men ran around to the rear of the building and down Girod Street, where it is believed they had a vehicle waiting.

He said the men were wearing nylon masks at the time of the robbery and since the business, which is located at 2025 Lakeshore Drive in the old Bechac’s building, had already been locked up for the night, all they made off with was a small amount of cash and the credit cards that was contained inside the purses. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Mandeville Police Department at 985-626-9711.
