The Slidell Police Department made the following arrests Nov. 9-19:

Charles H. Laurent Jr., 48, 57802 Benjamin Road, Slidell, disturbing the peace by public intoxication and urinating in public.

Joseph M. Augello, 26, 57270 Maple Ave., Slidell, failure to appear in court.

Lori N. Gowdy, 17, 303 Bruce St., Picayune, Miss., theft under $300 by shoplifting and unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage by someone under the age of 21.

Corene Martin, 36, 847 N. Walnut St., Slidell, theft under $300 by shoplifting.

Shiloh J. Crawford, 31, 471 Olive Drive, Slidell, issued a summons for simple battery domestic abuse.

Shelby L. Hill, 52, P.O. Box 772, Moulton, Ala., simple battery.

Julie Costello, 41, 2515 Oriole St., Slidell, speeding driving under suspension and failure to appear in court.

Raymond J. Williams, 28, 2526 11th St., Slidell, outstanding warrant for second-degree battery.

Amber D. Giordano, 23, 56670 Selborne St., Slidell, theft under $300 by shoplifting.

James T. Lowery, 17, 508 Cypress St., Slidell, possession of marijuana and resisting an officer.

Corrinne Cooper, 25, 59561 Thompson St. Lacombe, issued a summons for child desertion.

Matthew C. Schmalz, 17, 201 Peachtree Drive, Slidell, theft under $300 by shoplifting.

Robert A. Ducre, 20, 60071 Javery Road, Slidell, failure to appear in court.

Jena Fitzgerald, 23, 203 Riviera Drive, Slidell, DWI, improper lane usage and following to close.

Tammay S. Stratton, 38, 5648 Queener Ave., Port Richey, Fla., theft under $300 by shoplifting.

Russell J. Phillips Jr., 49, 307 Thames Drive, Slidell, theft under $300 by shoplifting.

Joe D. Perez, 45, 6478 Church St., Pearl River, failure to appear in court.

Bryant J. Estes, 27, Pelican Street (no address given), Slidell, simple battery.

Schilling D. Richardson, 36, 703 E. Sharp St., Covington, failure to appear in court.

Stephen A. McDougall, 23, 216 William Drive, Slidell, theft over $300 by shoplifting.

Lester J. Fournet III, 32, 706 Lake Village Court, Slidell, speeding and failure to appear in court.

Thomas J. Irby, 57, 37182 Browns Village Road, Slidell, aggressive begging.

Terri M. Vollentine, 55, 301 Queen Anne, Slidell, issued a summons for making a false report of a crime.

Theodore J. Vollentine Jr., 31, 301 Queen Anne, Slidell, issued a summons for making a false report of a crime and driving under suspension.

Brittany Andrews, 18, 6917 Lake Kenilworth, New Orleans, outstanding warrant for simple battery.

Daniel J. Rodriquez, 29, 638 Hailey Ave., Slidell, careless operation of a motor vehicle and no driver’s license.

Charles G. Coates III, 28, 58060 Churchill Road, Slidell, probation violation.

Kendell M. Heim, 18, 1450 Hillary Drive, Slidell, issued a summons for possession of marijuana.

Matthew W. Guillory, 39, 10 Birdie Drive, Slidell, two counts of failure to appear in court.

Nora J. Turnage, 43, 12 Pearl Hodge Road, Laurel, Miss., hit and run, driving under suspension and no proof of liability insurance.

Ashley N. Jackson, 24, 36450 Hermia St., Slidell, 39 counts of possession of intent to distribute a Schedule III CDS, 39 counts of obtaining prescription medication by fraud and possession of a CDS within 1,000 feet of a school.

Nakota M. Rouse, 18, 30221 Nina Drive, Lacombe, theft under $300 by shoplifting.

    " I think all these arrests for marijuana are crazy. Legalize pot and let the police do real police work. There are no narcotic officers out there who get a kick taking some pot off the street, but it is thier job. We need to encourage our legislators to legalize marijuana. It will hurt the drug cartels, it will hurt the gangs, and it will give our police more time to pursue bigger crimes. "

Sheriff and Slidell police on the hunt for armed robber

The armed robber, who is suspected of two armed robberies last week on Brownswitch Road and Robert Boulevard in Slidell, is also suspected for the robbery of the Blockbuster Video store at the corner of Gause Boulevard and Military Road Wednesday afternoon.
