Teacher: Johnny, your composition on “My Dog” is exactly the same as your brother’s. Did you copy his?

Johnny: No, ma’am. It’s the same dog.

Later today, the City of Slidell presents its Bayou Jam Halloween Bash. It takes place in Heritage Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. and features Vince Vance and the Valiants. Admission is free.

The group’s stage show is a visual voyage through five decades of music offering colorful costumes, choreography, and audience participation.

Children are encouraged to attend the concert dressed in their Halloween costumes, and are invited to stay afterwards for trick-or-treating, courtesy of business members of the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce.

Concert-goers are invited to bring chairs, blankets, ice chests and picnic baskets. Soft drinks, bottled water and food from Baskin Robbins, Times Bar & Grill and A Touch of Italy Café will be available.

Note: Park regulations prohibit pets and the use of bikes, skateboards, scooters, barbeque grills, and glass items.
