The trial for Raymond Foster, the Ku Klux Klan imperial wizard who is suspected to have killed an Oklahoma woman, has been continued once again.

The woman, Cynthia Lynch, of Tulsa, Okla., was reportedly brought to the Bogalusa area last November by the local Sons of the Dixie Brotherhood chapter with plans that she would be initiated into the KKK and be sent back to Oklahoma to recruit new members. Something went wrong with the plan. Lynch, allegedly backed out of the initiation rite at the last moment, and authorities believe Foster shot Lynch and hid her body under some brush near the parish line.

Foster has been charged with second-degree murder and faces life in prison if convicted. Foster’s son and six other alleged KKK members were arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.

The case has been placed back on Judge Peter Garcia’s calendar, and if ready it will come back up Nov. 16.

Foster’s son, Shane, is believed to have helped his father hide the crime.

Shane was determined to be incompetent to stand trial and is being rehabilitated while in jail. He will be re-examined next month.

In a separate case, a Slidell man pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated incest and attempted aggravated rape Monday in 22nd Judicial District Judge Richard Swartz’s courtroom.

Yultton Mendoza, 35, was arrested for the crime in August 2008.

On November 13, 2008 a grand jury indicted him on aggravated rape and aggravated incest charges.

However, on Monday, Mendoza struck an agreement with prosecuting attorney Jack Hoffstadt, and pleaded guilty to the lesser charges.

As part of the deal, Mendoza will serve 32 years in prison without the benefit of parole or reduction in sentence.

If he had been found guilty of the aggravated rape charge, Mendoza would have face life in prison. Attempted rape and attempted incest together carries a maximum punishment of 60 years.

Rick Wood, spokesman for District Attorney Walter Reed, said in cases of this nature the district attorney’s office often accepts pleas for lesser crimes to avoid having to put the victims on the stand.

He added that because of Mendoza’s age, he would spend most of the remainder his adult life in jail this way anyway.

" Everybody is racist, and the whole system is corrupt because of white officials in St Tamanny. The man is sick, the parish is making sure his mental capacities are present before sending him off to jail for the rest of his life. Jes Thinkin wants a quick trial so it can be overturned. One other thing, BR is truly a braniac. He or she should work for the FBI, or maybe a reality tv show, because they all fooled TR during the jury process. I live and vote in STP, and am proud to call it home. "

" I have lived in the Saint Tammany area for over four decades, which if TR would look at a few old newspapers would enlighten him to issues from Slidell, Mandeville, and Covington where civic leaders have been silenced to stop their speaking out against racial inequities. I know a few politicians and pols' children that certainly hope you get jury duty again. "

" I am new to St. Tammany, only been here for 2 plus years, I have been call to jury duty recently and was selected to serve. I am appalled by the statement of Jes Thinkin, I have never seen a more even handed, professional legal operation than in this district. I know for a fact that it is one of the most prudent district in the state of La. and they process more cases than any other district but one. I suggest you visit a few other districts and you may have your eyes opened. Kudo's to the courts. "

" Once again, politics, police and prejudice mark justice in Saint Tammany Parish. Swift punishment comes to those with "funny names" who don't "look like those folks on the dollar bills"; but acknowledged bigoted whites can find friendly faces in the offices of the Sheriff and District Attorney. Hardly surprising, since the practice of these terrorists hiding behind sheets are hardly different from the enforcers hiding behind tin. REFORM STP NOW!! "
