An investigation led by the Narcotics Task Force in Mandeville led to a search warrant of a Mandeville police officer’s home and the arrest of three people that reside in the home, including his stepchild.

Mark Nichols, 23, was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with an intent to distribute, possession of adderoll, a prescription drug, possession of a firearm in presence of controlled dangerous substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and monetary instrument abuse.

Kevin Quinn, 18, was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a legend drug without a prescription.

Erika Pfleider, 20, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also seized several marijuana plants and $2,000 in cash.

All three gave their address as 110 Dona Dr., Mandeville.

The officer has been suspended pending an internal investigation.

Acting Chief Capt. Ron Ruple said that disciplinary action in such cases can range from suspension to termination. Ruple added that there is no evidence thus far that suggests the officer was involved other than it was his house.

Ruple said the internal investigation has begun and appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken against the officer.

" I dont think the story shows that the acting chief is crooked. He only stated that you cant convict the guy just yet. Justice will be served but it has a process that must unfold first. Its unfortunate though that so many people are rightfully suspicious of the state and specifically this parishes judicial system. But I do have to agree with the chief and say that this man is innocent until proven guilty. he may very well be guilty, but we cant hang the man before he even has a chance to defend himself. "

" Let me first say that not "ALL" police officers are corrupt and power hungry. Unfortunatelly there are a few that abuse the badge and power, which in turn, give all police officers a bad name. It seems like a lot of police officers are corrupt due to the publicity that they receive. If you take a step back and really look, it's only a very small percentage compared to the hundreds and thousands of law enforcement. It is still unexcusable and I'm not defending them, but before you make a statement that "ALL" are bad, stop and think. "

" Everyone is raising cane about a police officer being involved with this house. Please note the man was arrested, he will lose his job, and if he goes to court he will face tougher sentancing, and a rougher time in jail, all justified.

Bottom line up front: A dirty cop is under arrest, the system works. "

" This shows everyone who choses to live or stuck in a parish that is so CORUPTED from the judicial sytem (courthouse) down to the police department. I truly believe Govenor Jindal needs to really listen to the people who's lives were and are being torn apart by employees who work for the government IN THIS STATE. Their are people who cannot leave the parish or state because of a corrupted system. These government employees can get away with anything they want.

" This is the good old boy mentality in action. Not only the mayor but the police chief appears to be crooked too. How can a trained professional not know that the people living in his house are smoking pot, doing drugs and growing pot. If he keeps his job than something fishey is going on. These are the people on our streets that are protecting our children!!! :( "
