The Covington Police Department is asking the community for help in finding a 1968 Camaro drag race car that was stolen sometime between Sept. 13 and 14.

Capt. Jack West, CPD spokesman, said the owner of the dragster reported that the car as well as it’s trailer are missing. So far police have no leads and are asking for residents’ help. West said the car’s owner is offering a $1,000 reward for the return of the vehicle and trailer.

West said the trailer has a dent in the rear driver’s side door and another small dent on the front.

This light-blue 1968 Camaro along with its trailer was stolen early this week and Covington police are asking for help in locating the car. (Submitted Photo)

The Camaro is light blue. Since it is not registered for the street, it does not have a license plate, but the vehicle identification number is 124378N364702. The trailer is a 2004 Pace Enclosed Utility Trailer. It has two axles, and is white in color. The Louisiana license plate on the trailer is E857052, and the VIN number is 4FPWB2024GO86177.

Anyone with any information on the car and trailer can call the CPD at 892-8500 or CrimeStoppers at 1-877-903-7867.
