The St. Tammany Human Society animal adoption center and low-cost veterinary clinic will now be open on Mondays.

“We want to make it as convenient as possible for people to meet our adoptable animals and fall in love with their companion of a lifetime,” Vaughn Maurice, executive director of the St. Tammany Humane Society, said. “ There are about 100 dogs and 40 cats here on any given day awaiting permanent homes.”

The humane society is now open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Appointments are required for all veterinary services. The center’s full service vet clinic offers low-cost spay/neuter, annual exams and vaccinations for dogs and cats, heartworm testing and treatment for dogs, diagnostic x-rays, microchipping and flea/tick and heartworm prevention products.

All proceeds from the vet clinic support the no-kill animal shelter operated by St. Tammany Humane Society. St. Tammany Humane Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 animal charity that receives no funding from the government or any national or state animal welfare groups.
