Center is Reaching Out to brain injury victims

Brain injury survivors, their families, related health care professionals and other interested people are invited to spend Oct. 31 at Bogue Falaya Park starting at 9 a.m.

The Neurological Living Center Louisiana is hosting this event in order to create a support group for those whom have brain injuries in our community.

This encouraging event will be called “Reaching Out” to those with brain injuries and their caregivers. There will be food, fun and moral support. The planned activities will be suitable for all ages and capabilities. A service booth will also be in gear for those whom may need any accommodations or assistance during the day.

The activities will include: creative expression booths in art, music and drama; “Techno for Life”; massage; nutrition; “find a friend” with survivors and families and much more.

Reaching Out’s main focus is to introduce brain injury survivors and their families to others who have the same obstacles going on in their lives.

They will then be able to be a comfort for one another through planned meetings. The meetings that the Northshore Brain Injury Connection puts on will jumpstart lifelong friendships for those that need it most.

" I have a son with temporal lobe damage from the time he was 3 he is now 34 is he able to go also.Will there be doctors there to speak to also. "

" know that those attending will be blessed by Reaching Out!- so cool and essential to bring people with BI and their families together! I only wish I could attend but distance prevents... Any chance of a chapter in Chicago area?!
