Come celebrate on old-fashioned family Fourth of July celebration Saturday night at Bogue Falaya Park in Covington.

The patriotic celebration will take place from 6-9 p.m. with music by the New Orleans Navy Band. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs, picnic baskets and blankets to enjoy the music, fun and atmosphere under the park’s oak trees.

Refreshments, including snowballs, will be available.

Catherine Cooper, assistant to Mayor Candace Watkins, said that no decision has been made as to whether the traditional fireworks display will be allowed due to the burn ban.

The free early Fourth of July family celebration is an annual favorite in the community.
