Dave Doherty, current M.R.A. president, announced that J. Ernest “Sunny” Breeding, Ph.D., will be the guest speaker on “How to Determine the Threat Level of a Hurricane and What to Expect.”
Breeding, recently a research physicist with the Naval Research Laboratory at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, will illustrate the discussion with technical photos of Hurricane Ike.

“I’ve spent most of my professional life researching, publishing or teaching about ocean waves generated by storms like hurricanes,” Breeding says. “For the M.R.A., I’ll describe how I follow the day-to-day changes in a hurricane, using sources on the Internet. With this information, I can determine the threat level of a hurricane, and what to expect once the storm gets into coastal waters and moves onshore,” Breeding said.
Residents are encouraged to access information about this Military Road Alliance meeting and other M.R.A. activities through its Web site at: www.militaryroadalliance.org.
