An open house for parents and students of the new high school on La. Highway 1088 will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.27. Tours will begin in the gymnasium.

Principal Brennan McCurley will be available to welcome students and parents. The open house will give everyone the opportunity to see the facility including gym, cafeteria, classroom wings and the main mall of the school.

The school was deemed substantially complete at the last school board meeting and is awaiting delivery of furniture for offices and classrooms once the final touches are completed.

McCurley has called opening a new school a great adventure. Although there is no name, mascot or school colors as of yet, students are being involved in shaping the school’s new identity in the naming process. The mascot and name cannot be in current use by any other school in the parish and suggestions are still be accepted.

For more information about the open house, call 624-5046.
