Slidell High School and Tulane graduate turned NFL running back Matt Forté is reigning as the grand marshal of the Krewe of Claude parade rolling this Sunday in Slidell.

Forté graduated from Slidell High in 2004 and continued his academic and football career at Tulane University in New Orleans. NFL scouts became very interested in Forté after he completed his senior year with the Green Wave where he rushed for over 2,000 yards and scored 23 touchdowns.

After being selected in the second round of the NFL draft by the Chicago Bears, FortĂ© quickly became the squad'€™s feature back garnering 1,238 rushing yards, nearly eclipsing the team'€™s 1,330 combined rushing yards of the 2007 season.
