Northpark drainage parcel fee on Tuesday ballot

Voters in Northpark Estates subdivision south of Covington will vote Tuesday on whether to pay a $200 yearly parcel fee to fund area drainage work.

The 20-year fee will generate about $59,600 yearly and fund repairs to a dam in the subdivision’s retention pond as well as cleaning and expanding roadside ditches.

If the fee is approved, plans call to issue a $180,000 bond to fund repair and improvement costs. It will also eliminate a $50 yearly drainage fee for all homeowners.
