St. Paul’s senior football player Jordan Bodenheimer is the Wolves’ starting mike linebacker. Bodenheimer is currently third on the club with 42.5 tackles, including 32 solo stops. He has two stops for losses and has caused a fumble. In last week’s 45-24 district victory over Slidell, he was in on eight tackles, including one tackle for a loss.

Bodenheimer’s consistent play along with his defensive teammates has helped lead the Wolves to a 5-1 overall record. The Wolves are 2-1 in district play, heading into this week’s road game against the Northshore Panthers.

“Jordan has a wealth of experience. He leads by example. He is quick to plug holes, and he is a great run stopper. He is an all around solid football player,” SPS coach Ken Sears said.

Sears said without a doubt Bodenheimer is a big key to the Wolves’ defense.

“Through his actions and his work ethic he has earned everyone’s respect. He is a very intelligent football player, and his teammates listen to him,” Sears said.

St. Paul’s defensive coordinator Lee Pierre described Bodenheimer as a very strong leader, playing the mike linebacker position, which for the defense, is the quarterback.

“Jordan is our field general, “Pierre said. “It’s been nice having him back there for the past couple years. We had his older brother Kirk for a few years at that position. The Bodenheimer’s have been strong for us at the linebacker position.”

Pierre said from a defensive standpoint, he knows exactly what you want on the field.

Pierre said Bodenheimer is a student of the game with a superb work ethic. He said Bodenheimer’s teammates respect his ability and are confident in his defensive calls.

What do you enjoy most about playing football? I just try to go out and play as hard as I can for my school and my team. It’s a great feeling, and it is very special being able to represent St. Paul’s on the football field.

What do you like best about being a student athlete? Getting an education first. I have an opportunity to attend such a great school like St. Paul’s, which also has a successful sports program to go with it. I couldn’t imagine myself being anywhere else but at St. Paul’s.

Do you feel an added responsibility of being a role model as a student athlete? Yes, because I feel people look up to football players. People in the community respect us.

Most memorable game? Last year’s regional round playoff victory over Higgins (34-26). We came back from a 26-7 deficit to win the game in the final seconds.

Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? It would be my dad, Kirk. He has been coaching me my whole life. He was my first coach, and he helps me out with everything. He helps me out by watching game film.

Who is your favorite athlete? San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis.

Favorite team? New Orleans Saints.

What is your favorite subject in school? History.

Plans after high school/college major? Hopefully I’ll be able to have an opportunity to play football in college. I plan on majoring in business. It would be nice to own a business.

Favorite sports movie/TV show/actor/actress? “Gridiron Gang,” “CSI.” Russell Crowe and Cameron Diaz.

Favorite type of music? Rap.

Favorite food dish? Hamburgers and cheeseburgers.

Best vacation? Going to the beach at Destin, Fla., with my family.

Best thing about living on the Northshore? It is easy to get to know everyone. I have lots of friends who play for other schools like Mandeville and Fontainebleau. It’s always fun to go against them in games.

Hobbies: I like to follow college and pro football. I’m definitely into the stats. I go fishing once in a while.

Parents: Kirk and Debbie Bodenheimer of Madisonville.
