Food Stamp applications for St. Tammany Parish residents will continue to be taken at the Castine Center in Mandeville, including the weekend, through Sept. 15.

The gates to the Castine Center will open at 7 a.m., and applications will be taken starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.

The additional days will accommodate both the numbers of citizens needing to register and those unable to register during regular business hours and days.

State Police will not allow parking on U.S. Highway 190 or the Castine Center road prior to the gates opening each morning.

In order to apply, residents must have the following: proof of residency, a photo ID, Social Security card, and Social Security cards of any dependents they plan on claiming.
