The short fortune teller who escaped from prison was a small medium at large.

This Friday and Saturday are your last two opportunities to see “The Odd Couple” at Luke’s Brisket and Broadway Dinner Theatre. It’s Neil Simon’s female version of his classic comedy and stars Grace Marshall and Suzanne Parsons-Stymiest.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the show at 8:15 p.m.

Admission is $40 per person and includes what I’m told is a delicious dinner. Wine, beer and gratuity are not included in the ticket price.

Reservations are a must. Make yours by calling 781-6565 or by going online at www.brisketandbroadway.com.

Luke’s is the former Minacapelli’s Dinner Theater and is located at 1540 Lindberg Drive, Slidell.

A C-130 was lumbering along when a cocky F-16 flashed by.

The jet jockey decided to show off. The fighter jock told the C-130 pilot, “watch this,” and promptly went into a barrel roll followed by a steep climb. He then finished with a sonic boom as he broke the sound barrier.

The F-16 pilot circled back and asked the C-130 pilot what he thought of that.

The C-130 pilot said, “That was impressive, but watch this!” The C-130 droned along for about five minutes and then the C-130 pilot came back on and said: “What did you think of that?”

Puzzled, the F-16 pilot asked, “What the heck did you do?”

The C-130 pilot chuckled. “I stood up, stretched my legs, walked to the back, went to the bathroom, then got a cup of coffee and a cinnamon bun.”

Moral of the story: When you are young and foolish speed and flash may seem a good thing. When you get older and smarter comfort and dull is not such a bad thing!

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.
