Coach Nelson said he and his coaches only had a couple weeks to get the team together.
“I was a little hesitant in the beginning. We started with 20 players, which was narrowed down to 12 all-stars and two alternates. The players went to baseball boot camp for two weeks,” Nelson said.
“It was very satisfying to see how much progress our youngsters made in just a couple of weeks of being together. We are extremely proud of the team. I’m really proud of the way they came together in such a short period of time,” Nelson added.
He said going into the tournament he didn’t know what to expect.
“I didn’t have a crystal ball, but looking back it was definitely the right decision to take the team to the tournament. It was a great experience for the youngsters, and the parents as well. All of the parents said it was a wild ride,” he said.

We can appreciate Machine pitch baseball as our grandson, Josh, played it. It is very much fun, don't you think? And you are state runner ups. Have fun.
