The third rape happened sometime between Feb. 1 and April 28 at an undisclosed location in the parish.
Sheriff’s detectives discovered Burt was being held in the Slidell City Jail on an unrelated charge.
When deputies told Slidell police about the investigation, Burt was charged by police with two counts of simple rape. Sheriff’s deputies charged Burt with one count of rape and transported him to the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
According to Foltz and Bonnett, Burt and his children and the victim and her family were staying at the Long Stay Motel in January. Burt asked the victim to babysit his children, and she agreed, but when Burt returned home, he allegedly raped the girl. The girl did not report the incident to her parents or police. Burt asked the victim to babysit his children a second time, she agreed, and Burt allegedly raped her again.
Bonnett said the victim has not narrowed down the exact date of the third rape.
Bonnett said Burt also has an arrest record that includes theft and drug charges.
