Mandeville PD looking for robber

The Mandeville Police Department is searching for a white male who allegedly made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Sonic Drive-In at 4610 Louisiana Highway 22 during closing time Monday morning.

At approximately 1 a.m., while two female employees were closing shop, a white male armed with a handgun confronted them, Mandeville Police Capt. Ron Ruple said.

According to the employees, the subject demanded the business safe be opened, but the employees did not have access.

Instead, the man managed to obtain an undisclosed amount of money from a cash register and from the employees themselves, Ruple said.

The subject is described as being in his mid-20s with short, brown hair, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and near 230 pounds.

On the night of the alleged crime, he was wearing a black Sean-John brand T-shirt with gold lettering, blue jeans and brown boots.

The subject fled the business in an unknown direction.
