A confidential tip to Slidell police led to a man’s arrest Friday night on drug and firearms charges.

Joshua J. Langlois, 18, 3188 Croydon Drive, Slidell was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute Alprazolam, a muscle relaxant, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police spokesman Capt. Kevin Foltz said after receiving an anonymous tip that Langlois was selling drugs, the suspect was placed under surveillance. After several days, police got a search warrant for Langlois’ house, where they found 12 grams of crack cocaine, three Alprazolam pills and the firearms.

Langlois was booked into the the St. Tammany Parish Jail.

" This story is factually wrong. The search warrant and arrest were not made at 3188 Croydon but instead at the Deluxe Motel in Slidell. Joshua Langlois does not live on Croydon either at the wrong address of 3188 or the correct address of 3818 Croydon where a different Langlois lives. This article has caused much hysteria on the Croydon and needs to be retracted. "
