The client artists of STARC will be the stars of their first art gala on Thursday during the STARC Art Linen Night, to be held at Patton’s in Slidell from 5-7 p.m.

The group is partnering with the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce to hold the event as part of the bi-weekly Business After Hours networking series. The works of more than 40 different artists will be on display and available for purchase, with live entertainment provided by the Ed Barrett Jazz Trio.

A $3,000 grant from the Cultural Arts Commission, as well as a gift from the Salmen Family Foundation, enabled STARC to stage the show.

Wanda Hebert will be one of the artists participating in the STARC Art Linen Night, Thursday at Patton'€™s from 5 to 7 p.m.

“We’ve participated in many exhibits with other local artists, but this is the first time our artists have ever had an event dedicated entirely to them,” said STARC Art Facilitator Dawn Rivera.

Rivera said the group chose the ‘Linen Night’ theme to indicate a more relaxed evening of art and entertainment that might not be as “intimidating” as a formal gallery event.

Patton’s is located at 127 Cleveland Ave., at the Salmen-Fritchie House in Slidell. For more information call 641-0197.
