A report of a disturbance Wednesday morning turned into a day-long search that included a foot chase for the Slidell police.

The result was the arrest of a man and his girlfriend on a variety of charges including burglary and aggravated battery.

While on patrol Wednesday morning, Officer Daniel Seuzeneau, got a call from dispatchers around 11 a.m. about a disturbance at the apartment complex located at 1404 Gause Blvd. When he arrived, Seuzeneau found a man lying on the ground with a broken nose and a bloody face. While police were there, Seuzeneau said the vicimt lost consciousness.

According to a statement from the victim, he got into a fight over some missing property with Glen Turnage, 31, 1404 Gause Blvd.

“Basically, it was a drug deal gone bad,” Seuzeneau said.

The victim said that Turnage allegedly beat him in the face with brass knuckles, and then fled the scene.

Police did a search of the neighborhood, and told residents of the apartment complex to contact police if Turnage returned.

Around 3 p.m. Seuzeneau got a call saying that Turnage had returned. The call to dispatch was from a friend of the victim, who claimed that he saw Turnage and his girlfriend, Sabrina Pacaccino, 32, who lived at the same apartment complex, going through the victim’s apartment looking for prescription drugs.

When Seuzeneau pulled into the parking lot of the complex, he spotted a person who matched Turnage’s description.

When confronted, the man allegedly gave the police officer a false name and date of birth. The victim walked out of his apartment at that point, and yelled that the man was Turnage. Turnage ran off on foot, and Seuzeneau gave chase. The officer said Turnage ran through backyards along Rue Rochelle, and he was hopping fences. Seuzeneau lost sight of Turnage.

“I want people to know that he did not out run me. I was out-jumped,” Seuzeneau said. The officer did climb one fence and spotted Turnage go into a backyard and then disappear from sight. Slidell police set up a perimeter and brought in K-9 units to find Turnage.

Police finally located Turnage hiding in a backyard shed. Seuzeneau said Turnage gave police a “brief struggle,” before he was arrested and handcuffed.

Turnage was taken to the Slidell Jail, where he insisted on writing out a statement. However, the statement was discarded.

“He wrote down a false name and date of birth on the statement,” Seuzeneau said.

Turnage was charged with aggravated second-degree battery, simple burglary, resisting arrest by flight, resisting arrest by violence, resisting arrest by giving false information, and injuring public records.

Seuzeneau said that he returned to the apartment complex Thursday morning, located Pacaccino and arrested her on a charge of unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling. Both Turnage and Paccaccino are being held at the Slidell City Jail awaiting transfer to the St. Tammany Jail for a bond hearing.
