To expand and better take care of their customers, Laborde Products, Inc. of Covington is opening a full service branch office in the Houston area. Joe Manning Jr. will head up operations at the new office. Company CEO Tracy Laborde made the announcement.

Growing up in the diesel engine business, Manning graduated from Lamar University in 1970 and joined Stewart 85 Stevenson. He eventually became vice president of S 85 S overseas. In 1985, he acquired Industrial Power 8s Service in Longview Texas and transformed the small dealership from a $3 million to a $10 million business before selling it.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I look forward to helping Laborde expand into some new industrial applications, larger equipment and fabricated products, as well as providing additional support to our existing Texas customers,” said Manning.
